StarCast:Amitabh Bachchan as God, Salman Khan as Arun Prajapati aka AP, Anupam Kher as Arun's father, Priyanka Chopra as Alia Kapoor, Sohail Khan as Rocky
Banner: Shabbo Arts
Producer: Afzal Khan
Director: Rumi Jaffery
Music Director: Sajid Wajid
This Vs The Original: God Tussi... is another entry into the 'inspired' bandwagon and a utter disappointment in those lines. Adapted by Bruce almighty, God Tussi could just adapt the concept and couldnt inbibe any comic essence of the original. Thanks to the ever incredible performance of Jim Carrey, Bruce Almighty had a decent humor attached to it. Sallu Bhai is horrific compared to Jim all credits to his overacting. Ultimately you cant avoid comparing AB and Morgan Freeman, Jim with Sallu Bhai , priyanka with jenniffer anniston but it has no mapping to the original, its just that the concept keeps you in the comparing mode.
The Story: Arun Prajapati aka AP is a harrassed man. He believes that God does not love him and has some grudges against him. Everything that he does, turns against him. He has an unending list of problems. Careerwise, he is the failed anchor of a TV channel. At home his sister is not getting married and his father keeps criticising him. On the lovefront, he is not able to propose to his love, Alia, who is a successful anchor in the same TV channel. His problems multiply manifold with the entrance of Rocky as the creative head of the same TV channel. Rocky also starts showing interest in Alia. AP reaches the height of his frustration when Rocky takes away the credit of a show of which AP was the creator and had worked day and night to make it a success. He is so pissed that he starts raging against God. It is then that God appears and tries to convince him that God does love him. AP however believes that God does not know how to run the world and given a chance he can make the world a better place than what GOD has made it into. So God makes AP as God and grants him divine powers for the next 10 days. How AP uses his powers and the chaos that ensues thereafter is what the story is all about.

The Pluses: There are a few good comic scenes in the movie like when AP's father tries to convine AP's boss to get a job in the muncipality. Anupam Kher once again entertains with his comedy. Amitabh Bachchan acts out his part with perfection and suits the role of God. Even though the movie is inspired by 'Bruce Almighty' it is not a scene to scene copy of it, the way 'Partner' was of 'Hitch'.

The Loopholes: The duo of Salman and Sohail seems very repetitive and reminds one of 'Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya'. Sohail must hone his acting skills before he takes on his next movie. After 'Aitraaz' and 'Don' a lot is expected of Priyanka Chopra. Even though you do not find that quality of acting in this flick she justifies the simple next-door kinda girl role that she has been given. One major loophole is the music of the film. The music is terrible. In a time when title songs of movies are topping the charts and play a vital role in promoting a movie, the title track of 'God Tussi Great Ho' is a big disappointment. The song 'Lal Chunariya' reminds one of 'Lal Dupaata' of 'Mujhse Shadi Karogi' which also starred Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra and had similar sets.
Verdict: Avoidable. Wait for the movie to be aired on TV. Don't waste your money and time watching it in a movie theatre.
Final Rating: 2/5
Other Nibbits: The Official Website of 'God Tussi Great Ho'.
Catch the videos of 'Let's Party' and 'Tujhe Aksa Beach Ghuma Do'.
Watch some promos.
