WALL.E - The Robot that changed the Earth

The Story: WALL.E is the story of a Robot named WALL.E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter-Earth class). It talks of a time in the future when the earth has been covered by non-biodegradable waste. At such a time a corporation named Buy'n'Large(BnL) helps move humans to another galaxy for 5 years. The company leaves behinds robots to clean the earth assuming that once the earth is clean humans can return to the Earth. However, after a few years the company CEO learns that earth has gone into an irreversible state and life is no longer possible on Earth. So, humans continue to live in the other galaxy and become so used to being controlled by robots that each indiviual starts living in his own virtual world. Humans become unaware of each others presence, forget love and brotherhood, their bodies become flabby and useless with lack of any kind of physical exercise. Meanwhile, on Earth there is only one surviving robot, WALL.E accompanied by his friend, a cockroach. Life changes when humans send a robot, named EVE (Extrateresstial Vegetation Evaluator) to earth to find out any signs of vegetation on earth so that humans can return to Earth. WALL.E falls in love with EVA and follows her all the way across the galaxy to the spaceship where the humans are.




The Pluses: I think the main plus point of the movie is that even with very few dialogs given to the characters they have been able to emote so many emotions solely with their facial expressions and body language. The two robots WALL.E and EVE are really cute. Whereas WALL.E has been given a rustic lovable look, EVE has been created as a more polished state-of-the-art robot. The animation is beautiful. Pixar Animation Theatre have once again created a lovely animation flick after Finding Nemo, Cars, Ratatouille and The Incredibles. Some scenes are particularly nice like when WALL.E is shown getting nervous holding EVE's hand :).




The Loopholes: I personally feel that the graphics could have been a little more colorful like they were in Finding Nemo and Cars.

Verdict: A must watch. I'm sure like me you'll also fall in love with the cute WALL.E.
