FORTUNE COOKIE, Noida - The Restaurant with the Oriental Touch

The fortune cookie is a crisp cookie with a "fortune" wrapped inside. A "fortune" is a piece of paper with words of faux wisdom or vague prophecy.

Way to Go: Fortune Cookie is a chinese restaurant located in the Atta Market of Noida. It is located next to Punjabi By Nature in the same lane as Mc Donald's.

Ambience and Music: The restaurant is divided into two floors, the second floor has the bar. On the ground floor is the reception. They have separate smoking and non-smoking sections. The place is not very crowded and the crowd is generally very decent. Even when I've visited on weekends I've managed to get a place on the first floor very comfortably. The ambience is totally oriental. The lighting is just appropriate, not very dim but not very harsh either. They have red-colored shelves all along the walls, which have been highlighted by small lamps and display different kinds of chinese pottery, gods statues and other artifacts and really add to the oriental ambience. The music is light and soothing and suits the peaceful and calm ambience. The seating is very comfortable and comprises of big sofas and chairs. It is the kind of place where you could go on a classy date and also the kinda place you could take your family to for chillaxing and spending some quality time together.

Food & Beverage (Khana Peena) - The food is awesome. If you love Chinese food, then Fortune cookie is a must visit. The USP of the place, in terms of food, is the huge variety of dishes that they offer each being quite delectable. I would personally recommend 'Cauliflower and Babycorn in Garlic Butter Sauce' and the 'Shredded Chicken in Garlic Butter Sauce'. You might also want to try their 'Veg Bamboo Rice' or its non-veg counterpart 'Chicken Bamboo Rice'. In drinks I liked the fruit punch - its nice and fresh. The restaurant would serve you one fortune cookie per head ( yes similar to the one's in the movie Freaky Friday) after the dinner. Believe it or not, somehow for me it has always predicted. You might not believe it or it might not tell you the right thing but nevertheless its fun.

Service: The service is average. The waiters tend to stand only at the dinner wagon. This is in a way is good also coz they don't keep lingering on your head while you are eating. However, you might find it a little clumsy to catch their attention after they have taken your order as its not the kinda place where you can shout for the waiter. The waiters are very courteous and fluent in their English as Fortune Cookie is a place where a lot of companies get their foreign business clients.

Paisa Vasool: It is full Paisa Vassol if you love chinese food and even if you don't you won't regret a visit. It would cost around Rs400/- per head for a meal including drinks.

Final Verdict: As I said if you relish chinese food, you'll love this place and would want to visit it again and again.
